Shiogari Pass (Asahikawa, Hokkaido)

This project is inspired by the true story of a railroad accident that occurred on February 28, 1909 (Meiji 42), and by the life of a young railroad employee who sacrificed himself to save the lives of many passengers out of love and faith.

Salt is harvested from mountain passes where natural salt is hidden. The small act of refining salt turns it into useful resource that serves as a "light to the world".
